Important Guidelines

Please read EVERYTHING

  • First Friday Art Walk begins at 5pm and ends at 8pm. (*NOTE new time.) You must be in your space by 4:30, otherwise your space may be given to a person on our waiting list.

  • We recommend artists and vendors arrive early, park and unload gear where directed. Then park vehicles for the evening in any number of free parking spaces around Artist Alley.

  • Artists need to have at least five family friendly pieces of artwork to show.

  • The Civic Center Plaza: This area of the First Friday Oceanside Art Walk is a more formal curated space dedicated to showcasing a cohesive fine art aesthetic. This is a juried area and is reserved for artists whose work meets specific criteria, as determined by our selection committee. Each space measures 10 feet by 10 feet and artists are required to use a WHITE 10x10 pop up tent. While a 10x10 white tent is a requirement for setups in the Civic Center Plaza, possessing one does not automatically qualify an artist for this section.

  • Artist Alley: Each space in Artist Alley measures 8 feet wide by 6 feet deep. While a tent is not required, artists have the option to use an umbrella or a canopy. Please note that canopies must be 8x8 or smaller and can be of any color, allowing for flexibility and personalization of your display Artist Alley offers a unique opportunity for artists to engage directly with the public, share their creative processes, and connect with art enthusiasts and buyers. The informal, yet vibrant atmosphere encourages interaction and provides a platform for artists to tell the stories behind their work.

  • Every artist is 100% responsible for their space set up. That includes easels, tables, grid walls, signs and especially wireless lights (when necessary).

  • IMPORTANT : Artist Alley no longer has night time lighting. We suggest you bring your own (battery operated) lighting if you feel you need it. However the event ends before dark.

  • Please leave your space at least as clean as it looked when you arrived.

  • Oceanside Friends of the Arts is not responsible for any theft or damage to participants’ artwork or supplies.

  • Finally, ENJOY THE EVENT! Oceanside Art Walk provides excellent opportunities to network with other artists and meet potential art buyers.

A few important reminders:

You must be at least 18 years old to exhibit your work in Artist Alley and surrounding areas.

Be respectful of your fellow artists.

No pets allowed (unless it’s a specially trained service dog)
