Melissa Nabulsi
Local Artist.
Melissa’s love for the arts was inevitable as she was born to a family of artists; her father, a commercial/traditional artist, a novelist and musician, and her mother, a Southwestern artist who had many solo exhibitions.
Melissa studied jazz piano from the age of 8. After raising four children and a career as a medical transcriptionist, she retired at which time she tried her hand at watercolor. She left Orange County for our beautiful Oceanside where she took an acrylic class at Studio Ace in early 2020. Melissa says that acrylics have opened up a whole new world of bold color with a never ending potential to express herself.
Her fondness for gardening and our beautiful sunsets have definitely influenced her paintings. Melissa uses watercolors, acrylics and oils to translate her soul into paintings. Every painting is a journal of the day’s emotions.
As Melissa will tell you, reality is for photographs and the canvas is to translate the vivid colors of her imagination.
